Long before it became a household name in off-road racing, the Paris-Dakar rally crossed this very stretch of desert. Today, a 4x4 piste retraces the route across the dry bed of Lake Iriqui, between the dunes of Erg Chegaga and the desert outpost of Foum Zguid — a true off-road adventure through empty desert landscapes.
